Honeysuckle Lake Cottages are situated alongside a most pristine lake - a bird watchers and wildlife watchers paradise. Honeysuckle Lake is a natural habitat for sandhill cranes, loons, swans, geese, pelicans, cormorants, blue herons, and a large variety of ducks that nest here year after year.
Muskrat, mink, weasel, whitetail deer, moose, and beaver share this lake and area.
Honeysuckle Lake Cottages is named after the abundant honeysuckle that grow along the lake edge. Yellow and white water lilies adorn the lake and the Indian paintbrush of numerous shades of red, pink, yellow, and white display their show mid-summer. Evergreens, tamarack, poplar, pine, and birch trees paint the lake shore with their majestic colors in the spring and fall.
Killdeer lay their eggs on the grounds at Honeysuckle Lake's lawn every spring. We all become avid stewards as we take care not to disturb the mother killdeer as she incubates her eggs.
Franklin gulls, whiskeyjacks, red-wing blackbirds, eastern kingbirds, the western meadowlark, the western bluebird, the American robin, barn swallows, tree swallows, and the sawhet owl, along with pigeon hawks, bald eagles, marsh hawks, and the nighthawks give us pleasure as we watch their flight.
We encourage you to come and experience the early morning sun as it radiates it's warmth and gloriously illuminates the majestic Rocky Mountains creating a picturesque view for you from your dining room table.
